Record
Amendments to the Electronic Media Law took effect on 1 September 2017. The new framework sets clearer rules for public service delivery and the funding of public broadcasters.
Public broadcasters and their founders are required to regulate mutual rights and duties through a contract. The contract runs for three years and covers the type and scope of public services, funding sources and the amount of resources.
Before signing, a public broadcaster prepares a proposal of programme obligations and holds a 45 day public consultation. The contract must be sent to the Agency within 15 days of signing. The Agency called on all parties to act in time.
