The Agency hosted experts working on a review of the media sector under a Council of Europe and European Union programme on freedom of expression. The discussion covered the legal framework, market conditions, state aid, copyright and the position of journalists.

Agency representatives presented their experience in audiovisual media oversight and identified issues that require systemic solutions. The experts said the findings would inform recommendations and further planning.

Such meetings allow domestic practice to be compared with European standards. The Agency will continue to publish documents and conclusions relevant to the media sector.
